Export Settings

Before:
Export settings were the same across the entire workspace, affecting all reports.
After:
Each report now has its own export settings that you can adjust and save individually, making them more flexible for different use cases.

Export Format Selection

Before:
You had to pick the export format (CSV, XLS, or PDF) before deciding what data to export.
After:
You’ll now first select the export style; either Spreadsheet (CSV/XLS) or Simple Timesheet (PDF), and then choose what data you want. This makes it clearer and faster to export the exact type of report you need.

Data Selection

Before:
All exported data was combined into a single table.
After:
You can now export specific data breakdowns — like Client, Project, People, Teams, Tags, or Tasks — and Timely will automatically generate either:
- Separate worksheets (if exporting to XLS)
- Separate CSV files (if exporting a single breakdown)

Timesheet Exports

Before:
Exporting timesheets was a multi-step and sometimes confusing process.
After:
It’s now a simple one-click export, downloading your timesheet exactly as you see it (“what you see is what you get”).
Note: For Timesheet exports with multiple tag columns, these will be moved to the end of the report — this is the only difference from the on-screen table.

Preview Feature

Before:
No way to preview your data before exporting.

After:
You can now preview the first 5 records with your selected columns before exporting, so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Schedule Recurring Exports

Before:
Scheduling exports wasn’t possible.
After:
You can now schedule automatic exports and have them sent to your email on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or yearly basis — saving you time and manual work.

Export History

Before:
No way to see past exports.
After:
Your last 5 exports are saved and available for quick download directly from the export page — no need to redo exports just because you misplaced a file.
